A Family Event of Tradition, Talent, and Triumph

The Experience

It all happens tonight. You’ve heard your children talk about the famous SUMORAI Mascots, but this time you’ll see them in action — battling for the Sumo Wrestling Title in the spectacular “Kings of the Mountain” competition.

As your family steps into the arena, a uniformed usher greets you with a full-color collectible comic book and a buy-one-get-one-free SUMORAI Program, featuring rules, scoring systems, and mascot rosters. You’re guided to your seats as the sound of traditional taiko drums rises, echoing through the hall. Energized rhythms blend with spotlights and banners, transforming the venue into a festival of lights, color, and spirit.

Opening Ceremony

From each tunnel, a line of drum majors’ steps forward — high-stepping and dancing in flawless rhythm. As they raise their drums, they shout Hajime (“begin!”), summoning the SUMORAI Warriors and SUMORAI Kids to the ring. Together they form a circle to begin the opening ceremony — a celebration of unity, spirit, and respect.

Battle of the Spirits

A Christian rhythm dancer enters the ring in ceremonial costume, performing a graceful purifying dance. Her movements honor the spirit of fair competition, symbolically cleansing the ring so all participants may compete safely and in good faith.

Sumorai Kids Comedy Show

Once again, the drum majors shout Hajime and introduce the Comedy Brawl — a playful, educational skit performed by the beloved characters Skunky Motto and Bully Bob.

Through slapstick humor, the opponents demonstrate the rules and values of Sumo, showing how disrespect and cheating lead to defeat, while honesty and honor triumph. Geared to delight the whole audience — especially children — the show teaches lessons that apply both in the ring and in life: respect, discipline, and integrity.

Battle of the SUMORAI Mascots

The drumming crescendos. The announcer’s voice echoes: “Here are your SUMORAI Warriors!”

Each mascot — symbols of dignity, loyalty, and respect — parades onto the floor in brilliant costumes to compete in full-scale, live Sumo bouts. The crowd roars as Skunky Motto faces Bully Bob once more, this time with honor on the line. The energy is electric — a mix of theatrical spectacles and real athletic skill that has everyone on their feet.

Battle of the Spirits (Youth Competition)

Local school teams take the stage in friendly, student-led entertainment battles. Groups of ages 5 to 13 perform drumming, dancing, and creative martial arts routines for the Entertainment Championship.

Kings of the Mountain

With a thunderous Hajime, the Sumorai Kids — students from local schools and community centers — march in to showcase their Sumo-inspired techniques. Trained in balance, form, and sportsmanship, ages 6 to 17 compete in a live-action sequence filmed for the upcoming Sumorai Kids cartoon. The energy is pure excitement, and the crowd goes wild.

Older students (ages 14 to 17) later return for the Leverage & Position Championships, the culminating event in the “Kings of the Mountain” series — combining physical skill with mental focus and teamwork.

Sumorai Mascots Challenge

In a fan-favorite finale, children aged 5 to 6 are selected from the audience to face off against the SUMORAI Mascots in a lighthearted matchup. The laughter is contagious as tiny challengers test their might — and everyone goes home a winner; with prizes and memories they’ll never forget.
